Monitoring

Netdata

Runs Netdata as a Docker container on the host network and host process namespace, with read-only views of /proc, /sys and the root filesystem. By default the dashboard listens on 127.0.0.1 only because it has no login; telemetry is off.

What you will be asked

You fill these in during setup.

  • Dashboard port RequiredAdvanced settings
The port the dashboard listens on. The default is fine unless another service already uses it.
  • Open the dashboard to the internet RequiredAdvanced settings
The Netdata dashboard has no login. When false (the default) it listens on 127.0.0.1 only and you reach it through an SSH tunnel. When true anyone who knows the address sees your processes and metrics. When true and ufw is active, the dashboard port is opened in ufw.
