Redis

Runs Redis 8 in Docker on port 6379 (changeable) with a generated password and append-only persistence. By default the port is bound to 127.0.0.1, so only programs on this server reach it. With 'Open to the internet' it is published on all addresses and Docker bypasses the ufw firewall for it. Redis keeps its data in RAM, so it uses as much memory as you store; there is no memory limit set.

What you will be asked

You fill these in during setup.

  • Redis port port RequiredAdvanced settings
The port the redis port listens on. The default is fine unless another service already uses it.
  • Open to the internet RequiredAdvanced settings
When true, the port is reachable from any address, protected only by the generated password, and Docker bypasses the ufw firewall for it. Leave false unless a remote program must connect.
